Absolutely! However, you may have to follow local ordinances to get the proper permits to be able to place one of our buildings on your property. Here are some guidelines to help for residents of St. Joseph, MO and some information that may be helpful to surrounding areas!
1. Do I need a permit for my shed or building?
In St. Joseph, MO, permits are not required for structures that are 120 square feet or less. However, if your building exceeds this size, you will need to obtain a permit from the city’s Planning & Zoning Office.
2. Who is responsible for getting the permit?
The permit is the customer’s responsibility, but we can assist with the process for large steel buildings.
3. How can you help with the permit process?
For large steel buildings, wooden portable sheds, and cabins, we can provide engineer-stamped drawings that meet the 2018 International Building Code (IBC) requirements. These drawings are often necessary when applying for a permit and can help ensure your structure meets local building regulations.
4. What if I live outside of St. Joseph, MO?
If you live in another city, you will need to check with your local zoning office at city hall to determine permit requirements, as regulations vary by location.
5. What happens if I don’t get a permit when required?
Failing to obtain the necessary permits may result in fines, required modifications, or even removal of the structure. It’s always best to check with the appropriate authorities before installation. However, these permits are between the customer and their city. Our delivery drivers will not check for permits.
6. How do I contact the Planning & Zoning Office in St. Joseph?
